Telegram Web With Two Accounts: Separate Chrome, Edge or Firefox Profiles, Step by Step

By ADSSPEED Team · Published · Updated · 5 min read

Can separate browser profiles keep two Telegram Web accounts apart?

Yes. A browser profile has its own cookies and site data, and a website keeps your sign-in there, so two profiles can hold two different logins to web.telegram.org. Telegram's apps page (read 3 October 2026) lists two web clients, Web K and Web A. The pages read for this guide describe how to sign in to them, and they describe no way to switch accounts inside Telegram Web.

This guide is about Telegram Web in a desktop browser. The Telegram desktop app is a separate program, and the multi-login guide covers its several accounts.

What a profile separates, and what it does not

If the idea is new, read what a browser profile is. A private window is only a temporary extra session, as the comparison with VPNs and private browsing explains.

Step by step: one Chrome profile per Telegram account

  1. Open Chrome. In the top-right corner, open the Profile menu and pick Add Chrome profile (Chrome Help).
  2. Give the profile a name, a picture and a colour theme. Name it for the role, such as "TG Support EN", so you can tell windows apart at a glance.
  3. Sign in to Chrome with a Google Account only if you want to. Chrome Help says the profile name then becomes the account name.
  4. In this profile, open web.telegram.org.
  5. On the Web K sign-in screen, choose QR code, phone number or passkey. For the QR code, open Telegram on your phone, go to Settings, then Devices, then Add Device, and point the phone at the screen.
  6. Enter the 2-Step Verification password if the account has one.
  7. On your phone, open Settings, then Devices, and check that the new login is listed.
  8. Repeat in a second profile for the second account, which needs its own mobile number.

Microsoft Edge has profiles of its own: add one per account from Edge's profile menu, since its labels differ from Chrome's. Firefox offers Containers, which separate cookies, localStorage, indexedDB and the cache inside one window. Mozilla's wiki notes that history and bookmarks are not yet separated, and that saved passwords are deliberately shared across containers.

Naming, hand-over and backups

  • Naming. Name profiles by role or team, not by phone number. Keep a short register of which person owns which account, kept somewhere other than the profile itself.
  • Hand-over. The account is the phone number. Do not pass a signed-in profile to a colleague. Either give them their own account, or move the number: Settings, tap the number, Change Number keeps contacts, messages and media. Telegram's Premium FAQ says a Premium subscription belongs to the account, not the number, so it comes along.
  • Backups. Cloud chats live with the account, so a profile folder is not a chat backup. Secret chats are the exception: the FAQ says they stay on the device where they began and are lost if you log out. Telegram's 2018 post describes an export tool in Telegram Desktop that writes your data as JSON or HTML, and the FAQ says the macOS version of the multi-platform client can export too.
  • Do not clone. Telegram's error documentation says an authorised session sending requests in parallel over two separate connections gets invalidated. Sign in fresh on each computer instead of copying a profile folder.
  • Shared PCs. The FAQ suggests a passcode under Settings, Privacy and Security when a device is shared.

If a profile misbehaves

  1. The QR code will not scan. Use the phone number or the passkey on the same screen.
  2. The code does not arrive. Check international format. The FAQ says Telegram may send the code inside Telegram when the account is open on another device, so look in the chat named Telegram there.
  3. You were signed out. Open Settings, then Devices, on your phone to see which sessions remain, and read why Telegram logs you out.
  4. You removed the profile by mistake. Chrome Help says removal erases the profile's bookmarks, history, passwords and settings from the computer. Sign in again from a fresh profile; cloud chats return.
  5. Two accounts landed in one profile. Log one out, remembering that logging out ends its secret chats, then move it to its own profile.

When ordinary profiles stop being enough

Browser profiles work well for a few accounts. As the number grows, the routine gets heavy: creating each profile by hand, opening and closing windows one at a time, remembering which window is which, and setting up a network connection for each one separately. That is the point where a profile manager starts to earn its place.

Where ADSSPEED fits

When ordinary profiles become too many to handle by hand, ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages them in one place. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so accounts you manage, such as separate Telegram Web logins, can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. Profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, and a proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk. Profile data stays on your own computer. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Telegram and does not change Telegram's rules.

Frequently asked questions

Can you use two Telegram Web accounts at once?

Yes, if each login lives in its own browser profile. A profile keeps its own cookies and site data, so two profiles hold two separate sign-ins to web.telegram.org. Telegram's pages describe no account switcher on Telegram Web, which is why this guide uses one profile per login.

How do I log in to Telegram Web on Chrome?

Open web.telegram.org in the profile you want. The Web K sign-in screen offers a QR code, a phone number or a passkey. For the QR code, open Settings, then Devices, then Add Device in Telegram on your phone and point the phone at the screen.

How do I log in to Telegram Web with a phone number?

Choose the phone number option on the sign-in screen and enter the number in international format. The FAQ says the code may arrive by SMS, or inside Telegram if the account was used recently on another device, and an account with 2-Step Verification also needs its password.

What happens to my chats if I delete a browser profile?

Cloud chats stay with your Telegram account and load on any device you log in on. Deleting a Chrome profile erases that profile's bookmarks, history, passwords and settings from the computer. Telegram says secret chats are tied to the device and login session, so they do not come back.

Can I hand a Telegram Web profile to a colleague?

Do not hand over a login. Telegram's FAQ says the phone number is its only way of identifying a user, so control of the number is control of the account. Give the colleague their own account, or move the number: Settings, then Change Number keeps contacts, messages and media. Then end the old sessions under Settings, then Devices.

Can I copy a signed-in browser profile to another computer?

It is a poor idea. Telegram's developer documentation says one authorised session sending requests in parallel over two connections is invalidated, and the user must log in again. Sign in fresh on each computer instead.
