Can You Use Two LINE Accounts on One Computer? What LINE for PC Allows (2026)
Can you be signed in to two LINE accounts on one computer?
The LINE Help Center pages read for this article do not describe two accounts open side by side in LINE for PC, so there is no official method to show you. What they do describe is signing in to LINE for PC with the single account that was created on a phone, and signing out again. Separately, LINE says only one LINE account is meant to be used per device.
This guide rests on LINE's Help Center (help.line.me), its Official Account help (help2.line.me) and its terms (terms.line.me), all read on 3 October 2026. Menu names are given in English, as those pages show them. It covers LINE for PC (the desktop app for Windows and Mac), the LINE app on a phone and, for businesses, LINE Official Account Manager in a browser.
Main device and sub device: how LINE ties a computer to an account
According to LINE's Help Center, your main device is, primarily, the smartphone you used to create the account. Using the same account on another device makes that device a sub device, and you sign in to it with the account details registered on the main device. LINE for PC is a sub device.
| Device | Role in LINE's device table | Note |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone | Main device only | LINE says an iPhone cannot be used as a sub device |
| Android smartphone | Main or sub device | Can also be a sub device of another phone's account |
| iPad, Android tablet | Main or sub device | Same account, second screen |
| Windows PC, macOS PC | Sub device | This is LINE for PC, and the account must already exist on a phone |
| Chrome browser | Listed as a sub device | Check in the Help Center whether LINE for Chrome is still offered before you plan around it |
Sub devices have limits. LINE lists what only the main device can do: manage account information such as the phone number, email address and password, transfer the account, change Letter Sealing settings, back up chat history and buy items such as stickers and emoji. For a sub device to sign in at all, Allow login must be switched on at Home tab > Settings > Account on the main device.
If you change your main device, for example after buying a new phone, LINE says you need to transfer the account. It also warns that registering a new account with a phone number, Apple ID or Google account already verified on another main device deletes the previous account, and that a deleted account cannot be restored.
How to sign in to LINE for PC, step by step
- Download LINE for Windows or Mac from LINE's official website. LINE says a new account cannot be created from LINE for PC itself, so the account has to exist on a phone first.
- Choose how to sign in: scan the QR code with the LINE app on your main device and tap Log in on the phone, use the biometric information registered on the main device, or enter the email address and password registered to the account. The email form has a Log me in automatically check box.
- If a verification code appears on the PC, which LINE says can happen at a first sign-in or after reinstalling, open LINE on the main device and enter the code within three minutes. If the QR code has expired, click the regenerate icon.
- To sign out, open the settings menu at the bottom of LINE for PC's main menu and click Log out. On a PC shared by several people, LINE recommends signing out after each session.
Two accounts: what LINE's pages support, and what they do not
LINE's article on creating another account with details already registered to an existing one says three things. A phone number, email address, Apple ID or Google account can be registered to only one LINE account at a time. An account is meant to be used one per device. And someone who wants several accounts registers them with different information and uses them on separate devices. The article sits in the smartphone part of the Help Center, so it speaks about phones, and the text read does not mention PCs.
| Situation | What LINE's pages support | Watch out |
|---|---|---|
| One account on your phone and your PC | A main device plus a sub device, with Allow login on | The phone stays involved, because QR scans and verification codes go to it |
| A personal and a work account, each on its own phone | Each account stays on its own main device. On the PC, sign out of one account before you sign in to the other | The pages describe signing in and out, not an account switcher. LINE has you scan with the LINE app on the main device, so use the phone that holds the account you want |
| A team answering customers | LINE Official Account and LINE Official Account Manager | See the guide to team access |
| Software that signs in or operates LINE for you | Nothing in the pages read | The Common Terms prohibit operating the services wrongfully with bots, cheat tools or other technical means, see the rules article |
A five-step check before you add a second account
- Confirm that each account is yours or that you are authorised to manage it.
- Note which phone is the main device for each account, the one that created it, and keep the phones labelled so a QR scan or verification code always goes to the right account.
- On each phone open Home tab > Settings > Account > Devices. LINE says the list shows the name of each device signed in to the account and for how long.
- Decide where each account lives. LINE describes one account per device, so a second account belongs on a second phone, not on the same one.
- Sign out when you finish on a shared computer.
For a plain explanation of what keeps one login apart from another in a browser, read what a browser profile is.
If sign-in does not work
- The verification code screen does not appear on the phone: LINE says to restart LINE on the main device and try signing in on the PC again.
- Email or password rejected: LINE suggests pasting both from a notepad app, checking for extra spaces, half-width characters and capital letters, and, if that fails, confirming the registered email address and resetting the password from the main device.
- An error about Allow login: turn it on at Home tab > Settings > Account on the main device.
- Signed out unexpectedly, or a warning from LINE: see the article on sign-outs and verification codes.
- Still stuck: use the inquiry form linked from the Help Center.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. LINE for PC is a desktop app rather than a browser page, so a profile does not contain it. Where LINE works in a browser, such as LINE Official Account Manager, one profile per account keeps each login separate: every profile has its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. Profile data stays on your own computer. Setup is covered in the Windows install guide.
Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow LINE's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with LINE.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have 2 LINE accounts?
LINE's Help Center says that if you want several LINE accounts you register them with different information and use them on separate devices, because an account is meant to be used one per device. The Common Terms add that measures can be taken on all of your accounts when a violation is found.
Can I have 2 LINE accounts on one phone?
The pages read describe one LINE account per device and do not describe running two on a single phone. LINE's own wording for several accounts is different registration information on separate devices.
Can I have 2 LINE accounts with the same phone number?
No. LINE's Help Center says a phone number, email address, Apple ID or Google account cannot be registered to more than one LINE account at the same time. Registering it again takes it away from the earlier account, which can end up deleted or inaccessible, with data LINE says cannot be restored.
Can I use LINE on PC?
Yes. LINE for PC runs on Windows and Mac as a sub device of an account created on a smartphone. You sign in with a QR code, biometric information registered on the main device, or the account's email address and password, and you cannot create a new account from the PC.
How do I log in to LINE on a PC with a QR code?
Start LINE for PC, open the QR code reader in LINE on your main device, scan the code and tap Log in on the phone. If the code has expired, click the regenerate icon on the PC. A verification code may also appear and must be entered on the phone within three minutes.
