Discord Accounts on One PC: Separate Browser Profiles Step by Step

By ADSSPEED Team · Published · Updated · 5 min read

How can several Discord accounts stay signed in on one PC without logging each other out?

Give each account its own browser profile. Chrome's Help says profiles keep your bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium's documentation lists cookies as profile data. Two Discord accounts in two profiles therefore do not share a browser sign-in, and cleaning up one profile leaves the other alone. Read what a browser profile is if the idea is new to you.

This applies to the browser version of Discord at discord.com/login. For the desktop app, Discord's Help Center describes an Account Switcher for desktop with up to five accounts; see using two Discord accounts on one computer. Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Discord's rules.

What a profile separates, and what it does not

Microsoft Edge and Firefox have comparable features under different menu names, so follow each browser's own help for the current steps. The walk-through below uses Chrome because Chrome's Help documents each step.

Step by step with Chrome

  1. Gather what each account needs: its password, its two-factor method and, if you plan to use QR login, the phone whose Discord app is signed in to that account.
  2. In Chrome, at the top right, select Profile, then Add Chrome profile. Choose a name, a photo and a colour.
  3. In the new profile's window, go to discord.com/login.
  4. Sign in with the account's email address or verified phone number and its password. Or choose the QR code: on the phone, open User Settings in the Discord mobile app, choose Scan QR Code, scan within 2 minutes and approve only a login you started yourself.
  5. Enter the two-factor code if Discord asks, then check the account name at the bottom left before you do anything.
  6. Repeat for each account in its own profile. To come back later, select Profile at the top right and pick the profile you need.

If a sign-in screen asks you to verify, or you are signed out, follow why Discord keeps logging you out instead of retrying in a loop.

Naming, colours and order

Name profiles so that a quick glance tells you whose account is open. A pattern with three parts works well:

PartExampleWhy it helps
Client or teamAcmeShows whose account it is
Role of the accountSupport or ModShows what it is for
Number01Tells similar accounts apart

A full name looks like Acme Support 01. Chrome lets you pick a colour per profile, so give each client or team its own. Keep a simple sheet that links each profile to the account email, the owner, the date it was set up and where its backup codes are kept. Do not put passwords in that sheet.

Hand-over and backups

  • Hand over responsibility, not passwords. Discord's Terms bar licensing, selling, lending or transferring your account without its prior written approval, and its Safety Center says never to give away your login or password. A colleague gets their own account with a role, and a server moves to them through Transfer Ownership, which the Help Center describes for desktop and browser.
  • Back up what Discord cannot restore. Backup codes are one-time codes, and Discord says its support team cannot remove MFA or issue new codes. Save each account's codes in a password manager, one entry per account.
  • Keep the contact details under your control. The Terms say Discord reaches you at the email or phone number on the account if you are locked out.
  • Deleting a profile erases its data. Chrome says the profile's bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings are erased from the computer.
  • Do not treat a copied profile folder as a backup. Chromium's documentation says the user data directory holds cookies, and Discord says a password change logs out all devices, so a copy goes stale and still contains sign-in data. Keep the folder private.

When ordinary profiles stop being enough

  • Scale. With dozens of accounts, creating, naming and opening profiles by hand gets slow and mistakes creep in.
  • Network settings per client. Profiles share the computer's connection. Teams that need a different network setting for each client can read proxy types explained.
  • Phones. QR login needs the phone, and two-factor codes may need it too, however many profiles you have.
  • Mobile-only work. Anything that needs the Discord mobile app cannot be done inside a desktop browser profile.

Where ADSSPEED fits

ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles. Each profile keeps its own cookies, local data and browser settings, so accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side without signing each other out. A proxy can be set per profile and assigned to many profiles in bulk, and profiles can be opened, stopped and organised in bulk, with data kept on your own computer. Android phone profiles, each with its own device configuration, cover mobile apps on a PC. See installing ADSSPEED on Windows.

Use only accounts you own or are authorised to manage, and follow Discord's rules. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Discord.

Frequently asked questions

How can I use two Discord accounts at the same time on one PC?

Open Discord's web app in a separate browser profile for each account, or use the desktop app's Account Switcher, which Discord describes for desktop with up to five accounts. Profiles let both accounts stay open side by side, while the switcher moves between them.

Does a browser profile separate Discord logins?

Chrome's Help says profiles keep bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings separate, and Chromium's documentation lists cookies as profile data. A Discord sign-in kept in one profile's site data is therefore not shared with another profile.

How do I add a Chrome profile for a second Discord account?

At the top right of Chrome select Profile, then Add Chrome profile, and choose a name, photo and colour. In the new window go to discord.com/login and sign in with the second account, using its password or a QR code approved from that account's phone app.

Will deleting a Chrome profile log me out of Discord?

Yes, and more. Chrome says that after you remove a profile, its bookmarks, history, passwords and other settings are erased from the computer. Keep each account's password, two-factor method and backup codes before you delete anything.

Can I hand a Discord profile over to a colleague?

Hand over responsibility, not the account. Discord's Terms bar lending or transferring an account without its written approval, so give a colleague their own account with a role, and use Discord's Transfer Ownership step if a server must change hands.

Do I need a different phone for each Discord account?

For QR login, Discord says you scan the code with your logged-in account in the mobile app, so the phone must hold that account. Password sign-in does not use the phone app, although two-factor codes may if the account has them.
