Bandcamp Rules for Multiple Accounts: What the Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy Say
Does Bandcamp allow more than one account?
Yes, according to its Help Center, with conditions that come from the Terms of Use. The Help Center (read 3 October 2026) says you can create additional artist accounts, repeating the sign-up as often as you like, and that you can hold a fan account and an artist account together. The Terms of Use (effective 7 May 2026) passages read for this guide set no number of accounts per person. They do require accurate registration details, prohibit impersonation, and make you responsible for everything that happens on your account.
What do the Terms of Use say about your accounts?
| Terms of Use point | What it means with several accounts |
|---|---|
| Registration details must be accurate, complete and kept up to date; failing to do so is a breach that may lead to termination of your account | Give every account real, current details |
| A User ID or domain may not be another person's name used to impersonate them, a name you have no rights to, or an offensive name | Do not name an account after someone else |
| Bandcamp may refuse a registration, or cancel a User ID and domain, at its sole discretion | A name you chose can still be removed |
| You are solely responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your password confidential | Whoever holds a password acts as you |
| You must never use another user's account without that user's express permission | Manage only accounts you own or are authorised to manage |
| You must immediately tell Bandcamp in writing about unauthorised use or a security breach you know of | Report problems rather than leaving them |
| Bandcamp may end your access to all or part of the service at any time, with or without cause or notice, which may mean losing information, including access to music you bought | Do not treat any account as permanent |
What does the Acceptable Use Policy prohibit?
The Terms require you to comply with Bandcamp's Acceptable Use and Moderation Policy (the Terms call it the Acceptable Use and Content Moderation Policy), which the Help Center publishes and dates 10 June 2026. Items most relevant to account holders:
- Using the site unlawfully or fraudulently.
- Spam: advertising or promotion that nobody asked for or authorised.
- Copying the site's text, media or other data in bulk with automated tools such as scripts or bots.
- Content that impersonates someone, or misstates your identity or your connection to a person.
- Running commercial promotions, for example contests or sweepstakes, without Bandcamp's written consent.
- Bullying, insulting, intimidating or humiliating people.
None of the pages read for this guide uses the phrase ban evasion or says how Bandcamp treats someone who opens a new account after a decision. They do describe withdrawing a user's right to use the site and an appeal route, so disagree with a decision through that route rather than by opening another account.
What can Bandcamp do if the rules are broken?
The policy says that when Bandcamp considers a breach has occurred it may take such action as it deems appropriate, including:
- withdrawing your right to use the site, whether immediately, for a period or permanently;
- removing content you uploaded, on the same immediate, temporary or permanent basis;
- issuing a warning;
- legal proceedings or further legal action against you, and passing information to law enforcement where it feels this is necessary or the law requires.
Reports about content are reviewed by people, and the policy says no such decision is automated. For a decision against you, the formal steps it describes are for EU citizens: within 6 months of the decision, email the address the policy gives; a member of the legal team aims to reply within 8 weeks; a further review by senior management has the same 8-week target; after that come an out-of-court dispute settlement body or the courts. The policy text read does not set out a separate procedure for other users. Bandcamp's contact page is where the Help Center sends people with account problems.
How do you stay inside the rules with several accounts?
- Create each extra account the documented way: log out of all accounts first, then sign up with a unique username, email address and password.
- Keep the registration details accurate on every account.
- Never name an account after a person, artist or brand you are not entitled to represent.
- Share access through Bandcamp's own tools, not passwords. The Help Center presents its label invitations as the way for labels and artists to work together without handing over logins; the label and artist access guide shows how.
- Do not create a second page for an artist who already has one. The Help Center says duplicate pages confuse fans and fragment the artist's community, and that the pages cannot be merged afterwards.
- Do not scrape or automate the site, and do not send unsolicited promotion.
- If an invitation looks wrong, do nothing. The Help Center says an invitation from a sender you do not know needs no action, and it asks you to report abuse of the feature to Bandcamp.
What if something goes wrong?
- Accidental duplicate fan accounts. The Help Center says accounts cannot be merged, only collections consolidated, and warns that wishlists and followers do not transfer.
- Deleting an artist or label account. Use
permanently delete this accounton the Profile page. If the account is linked to a label, ask the label to unlink it first. Fan accounts are deleted from the Fan tab of Settings. - Content removed or access withdrawn. Follow the policy's appeal steps above and keep any Statement of Reasons Bandcamp sends you.
- Someone else used your account. The Terms ask you to notify Bandcamp immediately. The suspicious-message page adds that you should reset your password, including anywhere else you use it, and contact Bandcamp if you can no longer get in.
Where ADSSPEED fits
ADSSPEED is a desktop app for Windows and macOS that manages many browser profiles, so accounts you manage can stay signed in side by side, each with its own cookies, local data and browser settings. It is a way to organise logins, not a way to change what Bandcamp permits: the Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy apply to every account however you open it. Profile data is kept on your own computer. See what a browser profile is for the basic idea, or installing ADSSPEED on Windows to get started. ADSSPEED is not affiliated with Bandcamp.
Frequently asked questions
Can you have multiple accounts on Bandcamp?
Yes. Bandcamp's Help Center says you can create additional artist accounts as often as you like and hold a fan account alongside an artist account. The Terms of Use passages read set no number per person, but they require accurate registration details and make you responsible for activity on each account.
Can you merge two Bandcamp accounts?
The Help Center says fan accounts cannot be merged; it describes consolidating collections by deleting the account you do not want and adding its email as a payment address on the one you keep. Wishlists and followers do not transfer. Artist pages and releases cannot be merged or moved either.
How do you delete a Bandcamp artist account?
On your Profile page, click the link to permanently delete this account. If the account is linked to a label, the Help Center says to ask the label to unlink it first, or the option does not appear. Fan accounts are deleted separately, from the Fan tab of Settings.
What are Bandcamp's rules, and what happens if you break them?
The Terms require compliance with the Acceptable Use and Moderation Policy, which lists unlawful or fraudulent use, spam, scraping with bots and impersonation among prohibited behaviour. Bandcamp may issue a warning, remove content, withdraw your right to use the site, and take legal action. EU citizens have a described appeal route.
Can someone else use my Bandcamp account?
The Terms say you must never use another user's account without that user's express permission, and that you are solely responsible for activity on your own account and for keeping your password confidential. Bandcamp presents its label tools as a way to work together without handing over logins.
